(A Salute to the spirit of the Republic nature of the Indian Nation)
Among
the most abiding and popular traditions that have been established
in the college is Guarav Diwas, which is organised
in the last week of January or the first week of February every
year. It has been conceptualized to commemorate the spirit of Republican
India and to instill and strengthen the values of democracy and
good citizenship among the students.
The main objective of Gaurav Diwas is to present role models to
the youth of post independence India. Since culture is one of the
chief repositories of the values of a nation, artists and leaders
of free India who have made iconic contribution to their chosen
fields of work are publicly felicitated on the occasion. Apart from
the more than 3000 strong enthusiastic College audience, Principals
of neighbouring Colleges, dignitaries of the Ulhasnagar Municipal
Corporation and other high ranking government official join the
College in saluting the work of the legends invited.
The programmes involves brief review of the contribution of the
dignitary/ies selected for the Gaurav or Yugantar Gaurav Puraskar,
followed by a cultural programme that showcases the contribution
of the personality to his/her chosen field, and the presentation
of the Gaurav and the Yugantar Gaurav Puraskars. The Theme Address
by the Awardee marks the high point of the celebrations.
