Details
Teaching and research have been the twin components of the academic growth of the college. Research activity has received a boost in the last decade. Today, the college has:
Seven well-established research Laboratories/Departments, recognized by the University of Mumbai, with approved Research Centers for Ph D, and Masters in the subjects of Botany, English, Hindi, History, Microbiology, Physics and Sindhi.
MPhil in Economics, English, Environmental Sciences, Library Science, Marathi and Psychology affiliated to the YCMOU.
The only CPCSEA-registered Animal House providing facilities for Animal Breeding and Experimentation and well-developed Botanical Garden for Horticulture Experiments. It is the only college in the
Awarded 11 Minor Research Projects by the UGC to the college under the Xth plan period till date. Seven teachers availed themselves of F.I.P for pursuing Ph D under Xth Plan period.

Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation sponsored Annual Study Report on Civic Facilities in
Childline Project Report by the students of the college on Need Assessment Studies Report submitted to Childline India Foundation.
Major Research Project sanctioned by the Department of Biotechnology jointly to the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharward and Smt C.H.M. College on Exploration of the Molecular Diversity and Insecticidal spectrum of the isolates of Bacillus thuringiensis of the Western Ghats of India and the NE hill regions, Establishment of Repository at university of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad and cloning novel Insecticidal genes.
International Affiliations
In a global scenario, Smt. C.H.M. College has reached out to form academic affiliations with Clayton State University, USA. The MOU for the faculty Exchange Program was signed by Dr. Thomas Harden on behalf of CSU and Principal Dinesh Panjwani in 2004. Dr. Robert Welborn, Director of International Education and Professor of History was the pioneering scholar to visit our college and followed by Dr. Catherine Deering, Department of Psychology, Dr. Christopher Ward, Department of History and Dr. Michael Tidwell, Department of Management Studies. The faculty from Smt. Chandibai College who have visited CSU are Dr. Milind Vaidya, Vice Principal, Department of Physics, Dr. Padmaja Deshmukh, Department of Microbiology, and at this year Prof. Ms. Ashwini Gokhale represented the college at CSU. Ms. Ashwini Gokhale also visited University of North Carolina, Ashville, U.S. (UNCA) at the invitation of Dr. Samuel Schuman, Dean of UNCA and Dr. Peg Downes, Professor of History. We are confident that there programs have a bright future.
The college has also been actively associated with the American Centre, Mumbai. Ms. Annericke Owen, wife of the Consulate General of America in Mumbai was the honored Chief Guest at the annual Chandi Utsav of this year. At the week long Human Rights Week celebrated in December 2007, Ms. Elizabeth Kauffman, Director, Ms. Lynne Gadkowski, Deputy Director, of the American Centre, Ms. Usha Sunil, Director, the American Library, Dr. Larry Diamond, Senior Fellow, Hoover Institution graced the Inaugural and Valedictory Ceremonies. We also hosted a one-day Seminar on Emerging perspectives on contemporary American Literature in February 2008 at which the renowned travel writer and novelist Paul Theroux was the Chief Guest.
