UGC XI PLAN Merged schemes [ Back ]

Smt CHM College has been sanctioned a total of Rs 64.75 lakhs under the UGC XI plan Merged Scheme.They are as follows:

Improvement of facilities Dr.Sheela Ahuja 2 lakhs Minor repairs and maintenance
       
Colleges with relatively higher proportion of SC/ST/OBC Mrs.Amita Grover. 6 lakhs To encourage access of students belonging to SC/ST/minority communities, OBC(non- creamy layer) students, facing financial constraints and physically challenged students. Providing a stipend of Rs. 500/- per month to 100 students belonging to categories mentioned above, on merit-cum-means basis, to be selected by the college, for purchasing books, stationery and for incurring contingent expenditure.
       
Special grants for enhancement of initiative for capacity building in colleges Mrs.Vibha Kumar. 5 lakhs In order to assist in expansion, both from the enhancement of intake capacity of existing courses by starting new courses, UGC provides special grant for books and equipments.
       
Establishment of Day care centre -- 2 lakhs --
       
Establishment of UGC- Network Resource Centre  Mr.Amish Thakkar and Mr.A.N. Pakhre. 3.6 lakhs To create awareness among staff and students about the use of computers in various activities like administration, finance, examination and research.
       
Equal Opportunity Centre Dr.A.D. Tiwari and
Mrs.Geetha Nair
3.75 lakhs To ensure equity and equal opportunity to the community at large in the college and bring about social inclusion.
       
Remedial Coaching for of SC/ST/OBC (excluding creamy layer) and minorities Mr.S.R. Chaudhari and Mr. Y. P. Jadhav. 15 lakhs For improving academic skills and linguistic proficiency of the students in various subjects.
       
Coaching classes for entry into services for SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer)and minorities – Mr. Prashant Kelkar. 11 lakhs To get gainful employment in gr. ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’, central services, state service or equivalent position in the private sector.
       
Higher Education for persons with special needs (HEPSN)-  Mr. Subhash  Athavale. 11.4 lakhs To equip higher education institutions with the facilities to provide access to differently abled persons.
       
Career and Counseling Cell Mrs. Jayashree Panicker 5 lakhs Counseling services are to be formalized which will enable the students to get over their social institutions and exclusivity, which are attributed to their socio-economic and cultural diversities and linguistic barriers.
